I couldn’t be more proud of my boys – UGA football is playing in the National Championship today!
I was lucky enough to go to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, with Will’s family. At first it was mass chaos. I’m talking five thousand people pressed up against one another trying to get into one gate to watch the kickoff. It felt like I was melting into all the people around me because they were squished up against me for so long! By the time I made it through the gate I was ready to sit down and take a breather, not watch the game. Luckily we had a few minutes to spare before the Dawgs crushed Oklahoma (okay, so maybe not crush, but we did win in the first double overtime the Rose Bowl has ever seen!).
Tonight, in honor of us going to the Natty, the university has opened up Stegeman for students and faculty to watch the game and several venues Downtown are going to be playing the game on the big screen. Governor Deal even proclaimed that last Friday would be “UGA Football Friday” and asked all Georgians to wear red and black. My coworkers and I dressed up for work and got some pictures for the UGA PAC Instagram.
We’re all so excited to watch UGA play tonight! Go Dawgs!
